Welcome to LifeChange, LLC ...
... the private psychotherapy practice of Shawna V Carboni, LICSW, DCSW in the Boston metropolitan area. In-person therapy has now been replaced by Teletherapy on a HIPAA-compliant site. To lead off, please know that I only work with residents of Massachusetts.
Updated for 2024
Many people are now working from home and/or still opting to avoid large social or public gatherings. This may have begun in 2020 as a response to COVID, but now is more commonplace. Lifestyles changed with the pandemic.
Working from home, looking to or beginning retirement can be opportunities for a more simplified lifestyle -- as well as an opportunity for enhancing self-awareness and self-enrichment. Sometimes, though, it can also stir unease or discomfort, questions and feelings of isolation, anxiety, longing and loss.
Therapy can help with a broad range of emotions, thoughts and concerns that surface under a variety of circumstances -- including the natural process of aging.
If you’re considering whether or not to start or resume therapy, please email to learn if there are any openings available.

Whenever we can see things in a new light, or grow and change from the inside-out, that's a LifeChange. And, that's the essence of what therapy is about.
Over the years, I've trained in insight-oriented psychotherapy and in various specialities, Including EMDR, Brainspotting, and Bioenergetic Analysis. These different therapeutic approaches allow for more ways to help meet individual styles and needs.
With guidance, you can learn ways:
I offer both individual and couples therapy to adults ranging in age from their early 20’s to their late 80’s and also specialize in therapy for other therapists and for artists who are drawn to a more creative, eclectic approach. As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, I'm a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Now, with more than 35 years experience, I still fervently believe in each individual's capacity for growth, change and self-actualization and try to bring a vigor, maturity and sincere commitment to my work.
